DONATE

Experienced. Fair. Ready to Serve.

Appointed by Governor Greg Abbott in 2025, Judge Lance Long serves on Harris County’s 183rd District Court. Before taking the bench, Judge Long spent more than 30 years practicing criminal law, including over two decades with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

His career has included leadership roles in major felony prosecution, violent crime, narcotics, vehicular crimes, appellate work, and capital litigation. He has served as a courtroom prosecutor, division chief, special prosecutor, staff attorney, instructor, and legal advisor to judges and law enforcement agencies.

Judge Long believes the courtroom requires both experience and fairness — and he brings both to the bench.
